Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) was established in our college in 2012. Performance evaluation, assessment, accreditation, and quality up gradation are key measures for maintaining quality and Quality enhancement is a continuous process. The IQAC is an integral part of our institution’s system, working towards the realization of the goals of quality enhancement and sustenance. Its prime task is to develop a system for conscious, consistent, and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of the institution.

Objective

  • To improve performance of academic, administrative and financial tasks.
  • To enhance Quality conduct of academic and research programmes
  • To provide Equitable access to academic programs for various sections of society
  • To integrate of modern methods of teaching and learning
  • To ensure Credibility of evaluation 
  • To regulate maintenance and functioning of the support structure and services

Functions

  • Development and application of quality benchmarks for academic and administrative activities
  • Facilitating the creation of a learner-centric environment
  • Arrangement for feedback from stakeholders on quality-related institutional processes
  • Dissemination of information on various quality parameters of higher education.
  • Organizing workshops, seminars on quality related themes and promotion of quality circles
  • Documentation of the various activities leading to quality improvement
  • Nodal agency for coordinating quality-related activities and best practices
  • Development of Quality Culture in the institution.
  • Preparation of the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR).

  • Designing and implementing Annual Plans for Institution-level activities for quality enhancement.
  • Arrange for feedback responses from students for quality- related institutional processes.
  • Development and application of quality benchmarks/parameters for the various academic and administrative activities of the Institution.
  • Retrieval of information on various quality parameters of higher education and best practices followed by other institutions.
  • Organization of workshops and seminars on quality-related themes and promotion of quality circles and institution-wise dissemination of the proceedings of such activities.
  • Development and application of innovative practices in various programmes / activities leading to quality enhancement.
  • Participation in the creation of a learner-centric environment conducive for quality education.
  • Work for the development of internalization and institutionalization of quality enhancement policies and practices
  • Act as a nodal unit of the institution for augmenting quality- related activities.
  • Prepare focused Annual Quality Assurance Reports (AQARS).

Composition

IQAC may be constituted in every institution under the Chairmanship of the Head of the institution with heads of important academic and administrative units and a few teachers and a few distinguished educationists and representatives of local management and stakeholders

The composition of the IQAC may be as follows:

  • Chairperson: Head of the Institution
  • A few senior administrative officers
  • Three to eight teachers
  • One member from the Management
  • One/two nominees from local society, Students and Alumni
  • One/two nominees from Employers /Industrialists/stakeholders
  • One of the senior teachers as the coordinator/Director of the IQAC
