Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure a ragging-free environment on campus by creating awareness among students about the consequences of ragging.
  • Display anti-ragging policies through notices, banners, and orientation programs at prominent locations in the institution.
  • Conduct surprise checks in hostels, canteens, classrooms, and common areas to prevent any incidents of ragging.
  • Monitor vulnerable areas during the first few weeks of a new academic session, especially for first-year students.
  • Receive complaints related to ragging and conduct prompt and impartial investigations. Take appropriate disciplinary action against those found guilty, as per institutional and regulatory guidelines.
  • Provide necessary psychological and emotional support to victims of ragging through counselling services.
  • Encourage students to report incidents without fear, ensuring confidentiality and safety.
  • Coordinate with local police, district administration, and affiliating university in case of serious ragging incidents. Submit periodic reports on anti-ragging measures.
  • Organize orientation sessions, seminars, and workshops on anti-ragging laws and student safety.
